Man remanded on bail over McCartney murder

A man accused of murdering Belfast forklift driver Robert McCartney outside a bar in the city was remanded on bail today.

A man accused of murdering Belfast forklift driver Robert McCartney outside a bar in the city was remanded on bail today.

Terrence Davidson (49) from Stainfield Place, in the Markets area, will appear again before Belfast Magistrates on November 4th.

Earlier this month he was released on bail but ordered to have no contact with Mr McCartney's family.

Mr McCartney's murder has attracted international attention following a high-profile campaign for justice by his sisters and partner, Bridgeen Hagans, which has taken them into meetings with US President George Bush, Taoiseach Bertie Ahern and leading figures in the European Commission and European Parliament.
