Man remanded in custody over Ranelagh death

A man has appeared in court this morning in relation to the death of a woman at a homeless shelter in Ranelagh, Dublin.

A man has appeared in court this morning in relation to the death of a woman at a homeless shelter in Ranelagh, Dublin.

Last Friday, Clive Butcher (43), with an address at 94, Ranelagh Road, Ranelagh, was charged at Dublin District Court with the murder of Rebecca Hoban (28).

Today he was remanded in custody until January 6th after appearing at Cloverhill District Court today.

Ms Hoban, a mother of one from Dublin’s south inner city, was found with knife wounds last Wednesday afternoon. She was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
