Gardaí in Ronanstown, west Dublin, have held a man for questioning in connection with the shooting of a 19-year-old last week.
The victim was shot in the face with a shotgun in the Foxdene estate.
A man in his thirties is being detained for questioning in Ronanstown Garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
