A Dublin man who sexually assaulted a 13-year-old boy in a toilet cubicle at The Square shopping centre, Tallaght, has been jailed for five years at the Central Criminal Court.
Paul Berney (50), of Dolphin House, South Circular Road, Rialto, pleaded guilty to the sexual assault on July 6th, 1998. Mr Justice Carney suspended the last two years of the sentence.
Garda Declan Scannell told Mr Denis Vaughan Buckley SC, prosecuting, that the boy went to the toilets on level two at The Square complaining of stomach pains and was attacked and sexually assaulted by Berney.
