A GALWAY man who was jailed for five years for manslaughter but had three years of the sentence suspended was sent back to prison yesterday after breaching a court order binding him to the peace.

Alan Murphy (23), of St James Crescent, Mervue, Galway, was sentenced to five years' at the Central Criminal Court in May 1994 for manslaughter.

The trial was told Mr Richard Feeney (38), of Wellpark Grove, Galway, died after a row involving Murphy at Townparks, Galway, on May 5th, 1993.

Mr Justice Carney said he regarded an offence in December 1996, when Murphy had driven a car at speed through Galway city, as a wilful flouting of the court order binding him to the peace.
