A man was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Co Down yesterday

A man was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Co Down yesterday. Mr James Fisher, from Rathfriland, was knocked down by a car which failed to stop on the Banbridge Road. The RUC is questioning a man about the fatality.

Meanwhile, a 26-year-old man was yesterday critically ill in hospital following a weekend accident in which two teenagers were killed. He was the driver of a car involved in a head-on collision with a car in which Mr Ivan Farrell from Dromore, Co Tyrone, and Mr Brian Davis from Lack, Co Fermanagh, both aged 19, were passengers. The accident occurred on the Enniskillen to Ballinamallard road.
