A MAN detained during a major Garda search-and-arrest operation appeared in court yesterday accused of threatening to kill another person.

Leslie Roche, of Puddingsfield, Tipperary, was one of eight people arrested on Thursday by gardaí as part of Operation Infinity, a crackdown on alleged organised crime and general crime.

Mr Roche was held overnight by gardaí and brought before Thurles District Court yesterday on a charge of threatening to kill a person.

Judge Tom O’Donnell granted the accused bail with a number of conditions.

One of these was that he not reside at a Tipperary address. Mr Roche was remanded on bail to appear again in court in Tipperary town next Wednesday.
