A MAN who admitted possessing a sawn-off shotgun in 1994 had his case adjourned for a year in Dublin Circuit Criminal Court yesterday after a judge was told the accused had a rare psychiatric condition.

In Dublin Circuit Criminal Court yesterday Judge Cyril Kelly said Mr Darren Dennis ,(22), of St Bridget's Gardens, Dublin, was deemed unfit to attend court in 1995.

Defence counsel Mr Patrick Marrinan agreed it was a very unusual case. Mr Dennis had agreed to accompany an older man who was well known to the Garda, who wanted to intimidate his own girlfriend with the gun, but during the incident in the woman's flat Mr Dennis had enough and left, Mr Marrinan said.
