A man is in a critical condition in hospital after being struck repeatedly around the head in Co Antrim.
The 50-year-old was assaulted in Richmond Walk, Ballymena, last night.
A short time later, police arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder and he is helping detectives with their inquiries.
