Police in Co Derry are treating a serious attack on a man in Coleraine overnight as attempted murder.
The 41-year-old man was found slumped in a doorway suffering from multiple injuries.
A PSNI spokeswoman said the man was discovered by a passerby at around 5.00 this morning in the doorway on New Row. It is believed he made his way there after being attacked in Church Street.
The injured man is said to be in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Police have appealed for witnesses. It is not known if the attack was paramilitary-related.
There were no arrests.
