The man who was found dead in the Royal Canal in Dublin on Sunday has been named as Mr James Creevey (48), from Tullamore, Co Offaly. Mr Creevey's body was found between Binn's Bridge and Cross Guns Bridge. He had been staying in a Simon Community hostel in the city.

On Sunday afternoon the body of Mr James Hennessy (65), from Walkinstown, was taken from the Grand Canal at Clondalkin. Neither death is being treated by gardai as suspicious.
