A 28-year-old man will appear before a special sitting of Killarney District Court today charged with the possession of a kilo of cocaine with an estimated value of €70,000.
A statement issued by the Garda press office said the man, who is from the town, will be brought before the court at 5pm.
According to the Garda, the drugs were discovered by gardaí hidden in a ditch at Bohereen Na Marbh, Gortroe, Killarney on March 25th
last.
"The charge follows a lengthy investigation and a direction from the DPP to prosecute," the statement added.
