Man dies in Tullamore stabbing

An investigation is under way after a man was fatally stabbed in Tullamore, Co Offaly.

An investigation is under way after a man was fatally stabbed in Tullamore, Co Offaly.

Gardaí were called to a house on Kilbride Street shortly after 7am today and found the Polish man (30) with stab wounds. He was taken to the Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore where he died a short time later.

A second injured man was also taken to the hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Gardaí have sealed off the scene for a technical examination, and the State Pathologist’s Office has been notified.

No arrests have been made.

Gardaí are looking at CCTV footage and carrying out door-to-door inquiries.
