Man dies following attack in NI

A man critically injured in a weekend attack on a caravan site in Co Fermanagh has died in hospital today.

A man critically injured in a weekend attack on a caravan site in Co Fermanagh has died in hospital today.

The 41-year-old was named as James Patrick McGauran from Kestrel Grange at Dunmurry, Co Antrim.

He was found lying in the caravan park at Castlearchdale, Co Fermanagh, on the  shores of Lough Erne by a passer-by on Sunday evening .

The PSNI said the man suffered extensive head injuries.

A post-mortem examination is to be carried out to determine the cause of the injuries and death.

A man in his 30s was arrested prior to Mr McGauran's death and remains under interrogation.
