A man remains in a critical condition in hospital suffering from severe burns after a fire in north Belfast destroyed two houses on the Cliftonville Road. Police investigating the incident said the blaze was started deliberately but was not sectarian.

Three men were rescued from a second-storey ledge of one of the houses by the emergency services after the alarm was raised at around 8 p.m. on Tuesday. The second house was unoccupied.
