A foreign national in his 40s who lives in Bray, was in a critical condition in St James's Hospital, Dublin last night after a fireworks explosion at a premises in Co Wicklow.

The man was at work in a business unit attached to a private home at East Hill in Newtownmountkennedy when the explosion occurred at 6 p.m. It is believed it was caused by an accidental ignition.
