A 19-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital following a seriously assault in west Belfast last night.
Police said the man was attacked in the Mount Alverno area of the Springfield Road at around 2:30am.
He was brought to hospital suffering from serious head injuries where he is in a “critical but stable condition”.
A police spokesman said they are trying to establish a motive for the attack and have appealed for anyone in the area to contact them.
