A 47-year-old man, Mr Patrick Kilraine, with an address in Basin Street flats, Dublin, was charged yesterday with the murder of Mr Kevin Dowler (42) in a room in St James's Hospital last Monday evening. Judge Terence Finn remanded him in custody and he will appear in Kilmainham District Court next Tuesday.
St James's Hospital issued a statement expressing sympathy with the victim's family.
