The PSNI has arrested a man (31) over a gun attack on police officers in Co Derry.
Shots were fired at officers by suspected dissident republicans in Derry on Wednesday
night.
Police were responding to a report that a car had been abandoned in a grassy area off the
Glen Road at the time.
After arranging for the stolen car to be recovered, the officers were shot at as they returned
to their vehicle. No-one was injured.
Police said a man has been arrested in Derry by serious crime branch officers in relation to
the attack.
A number of searches have also been carried out across the city as part of the operation.
Earlier this week, PSNI superintendent Chris Yates said the gun attack was an attempt to kill a police officer.
