A DUBLIN man has admitted having a sawn-off shotgun unlawfully three months after he was arrested for possessing £50,000 worth of heroin for supply.

Alan Lynch, previously described in court as one of the major heroin suppliers in the south Dublin area, was remanded on continuing bail to May 15th next.

Mr Luigi Rea, defending, said Lynch had other matters against him which were coming before Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Last December he pleaded guilty to possessing £50,000 worth of heroin for supply at his former girlfriend's rented house at Alderpark Court in Tallaght on November 17th, 1995.

His former girlfriend, Elaine Moore (26), was the first person in the State to be charged with the new offence of handling drugs money.
