A DUBLIN man has been charged with a murder that took place in Tallaght more than three years ago. Paul Zambra (34) appeared at Tallaght District Court yesterday, charged with the murder of Seán McMahon (36) at Donamore Avenue, Tallaght, on November 14th, 2007.

Gardaí gave evidence of arresting Mr Zambra at Inagh Road, Ballyfermot, early yesterdaymorning and taking him to Tallaght Garda station, where he was formally charged with murder.

Judge Bridget O’Reilly heard that, when charged, Mr Zambra had said: “I am totally innocent to these charges.”

Mr Zambra said he was a plasterer but had been unemployed for the past two years.

He said he had no assets and no dependants and applied for legal aid.

Judge O’Reilly said bail did not arise given the seriousness of the charges and she ordered an assessment of his means. She remanded him to Cloverhill District Court on Thursday.
