A 21-year-old man has died in a car crash in Co Donegal.

A 21-year-old man has died in a car crash in Co Donegal.

He died when the car he was travelling in lost control and hit a ditch at Drumhaggart, Burnfoot shortly after 4.30am.

The car was travelling from Muff towards Burnfoot, gardaí said.

The body of the dead man has been taken to Letterkenny General Hospital.

Another man who is seriously injured was also taken to hospital. Two other men were taken to Altanagelvin Hospital, Derry.

"The incident is under investigation and the road at the scene of the crash remains closed while the scene is being examined by Garda forensic collision investigators," a Garda statement said.

Two women died in a four-car crash in Roscrea, Co Tipperary on Friday evening. Gardaí named them today as as Safiyaben Daruwala and Farida Dholkawala both aged 58. The women were from Pakistan and they were in Ireland visiting relatives.

William Murphy (43), from Drogheda, died in a crash in Cashel, also on Friday.

A total of 291 people have now died on the State's roads this year.
