A 19-year-old man has been arrested by gardaí in Co Donegal investigating a serious assault on another man in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The man was arrested in Letterkenny around 8 a.m. and is being held in the town's Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
He is being questioned in relation to an attack on a 27 year-old man is in a outside a Letterkenny pub. Gardaí said the incident happened on Kilmacrenan Road at around 3 a.m. on Saturday.
The injured man was taken Letterkenny General Hospital but was moved to Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, where he is in a critical condition.
