The Loyalist Volunteer Force has called off a campaign of attacks on prison officers' homes which was linked to a dispute in the Maze Prison.

The dispute started in the prison last week over conditions and visiting rights for LVF inmates. Disturbances in the wings occupied by 28 prisoners caused an estimated £250,000 in damage, and the homes of a number of serving and retired prison officers in the mid-Ulster area were attacked.
