A Loyalist paramilitary prisoner was released from the Maze yesterday under the terms of the Belfast Agreement. The man had served five years of a 14-year sentence for conspiracy to murder. Mr William Smith of the Progressive Unionist Party (PUP) met the first Red Hand Commando prisoner on his release.
