A man is expected to appear in court today charged with the murder of a member of the Ulster Defence Regiment (UDR) in Northern Ireland more than 25 years ago.
Cpl Robert Thomas Moffett was killed when his vehicle was caught in a landmine explosion at Killucan, near Cookstown, Co Tyrone, in March 1974.
The 51-year-old man accused of his murder has an address in Co Louth, RUC said. He is expected to appear before a court in Enniskillen today.
Cpl Moffett was a passenger in a Land Rover that escaped the full brunt of the bomb as it exploded on the road in front of them. The bomb was thought to have been planted by the Provisional IRA.
Cpl Moffett suffered fatal head injuries when the jeep crashed into the crater left by the blast. His three colleagues survived the attack.
