Lorry impounded in foot-and-mouth probe

Gardaí investigating the source of the State's sole foot-and-mouth outbreak tonight impounded a lorry close to the Border.

Gardaí investigating the source of the State's sole foot-and-mouth outbreak tonight impounded a lorry close to the Border.

A garda spokesman said the lorry was taken from a farm outside Dundalk, and had been taken to Dundalk garda station for "technical examination."

He said the lorry was impounded as part of an ongoing investigation into the source of the Co Louth outbreak of the virus.
