Worthing - Lord Mellish of Bermondsey, former Labour Chief Whip under Harold Wilson, has died aged 85, his family said yesterday.
The peer, formerly Bob Mellish, died at a nursing home in Sompting, near Worthing, west Sussex at 10 p.m. on Saturday night. He had been suffering from Parkinson's disease and cancer.
