Scotland's High Court must hear a new appeal by Libyan intelligence agent Abdel Basset al-Megrahi against his conviction for the 1988 Lockerbie airliner bombing, an review body said today.

The Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission said it was referring Megrahi's case to the High Court, a step it takes in cases where it believes there may have been a miscarriage of justice.
