Local environment projects to get extra funds

A total of €280,000 in grants will allocated to the Local Environment Partnership Fund.

A total of €280,000 in grants will allocated to the Local Environment Partnership Fund.

The aim of the grants is to encourage people to adopt more environmentally friendly behaviour and to promote sustainable development by assisting environmental awareness projects.

Local authorities around the country will be awarded funding to be distributed to projects approved by the relevant county council.

Each local authority will receive a minimum grant with adjustments for areas with large populations.
