Liverpool's commitment to make funds available for under-fire manager Gerard Houllier will lead to a £12million-rated bid for the Republic of Ireland winger Damien Duff, according to reports in the British press this morning.

It has been widely reported that Duff, who has also been linked to Manchester United in recent weeks, will leave Blackburn Rovers this summer, with Anfield emerging as his most likely destination.

Another Irish youngster in the headlines this morning is Celtic midfielder Colin Healy. Healy, who was omitted from Brian Kerr's training squad yesterday due to his continued involvement in the SPL title run-in, is believed to be a target for Leeds new boss Peter Reid.
