The search continued in Limerick yesterday for a 25-year-old man who escaped from custody while receiving hospital treatment on Monday morning.
The inmate, who was in the custody of prison officers at the time, escaped while he was being seen by a nurse.
It is understood he knocked a prison officer to the ground before getting away. The 25-year-old is serving a sentence for a burglary conviction and is due for release next summer.
He is originally from the northside of Limerick city.
