Leeds United player Jody Morris was tonight charged with rape, West Yorkshire Police said.

Morris (24) was rearrested earlier today following allegations that a 20-year-old woman was attacked in Leeds in the early hours of October 7th.

A 26-year-old man was also charged with rape, a police spokeswoman said.

Both men were being held in custody and will appear before Leeds Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Another Leeds player, Jermaine Pennant (20) was arrested earlier today in connection with the incident.

He was released on police bail pending further inquiries.
