Judgment was reserved by the High Court yesterday in an action taken by a London antiques dealer who claimed she paid more than £650,000 sterling as a deposit on Italian made Lamborghini cars in 1990 through a company in Macroom, Co Cork.

The action, which was heard by Mr Justice Shanley, was taken by Ms Amanda Forshall, Paultons Square, Chelsea, London, a director of Fine Arts and Collections, London.

When the case opened in March, Mr Hugh O'Neill SC, for Ms Forshall, said the money paid by his client in respect of the purchase of nine Lamborghini Diablos had never been recovered. Her reputation had been severely damaged and she lost a number of valuable Japanese contacts. Mr O'Neill also said there were other defendants in the action who had all denied the allegations.
