Kildare appoint Nolan as new manager

Padraig Nolan has been appointed as the new manager of the Kildare senior football team.

Padraig Nolan has been appointed as the new manager of the Kildare senior football team.

Nolan, a native of Kilcock and a former Kildare inter-county footballer, succeeds Mick O'Dwyer who resigned earlier this summer.

The appointment of Nolan ends an exhaustive search by the Kildare County Board for a worthy successor to O'Dwyer.

It is understood former Galway player and current Dublin under 21 trainer Brian Talty had already turned the job down while John Courtney and Richie Connor were also linked with the position.
