Racing: Black Jack Ketchum is set to make a belated return to action in the Mears Group Relkeel Hurdle at Cheltenham on Saturday.

Jonjo O'Neill's star was ruled out of two possible engagements at Newbury and Haydock last month due to an unsatisfactory blood count.

But O'Neill reports Black Jack Ketchum to be back in form now and ready to tackle the Grade Two event.

He told the Racing Post: "Black Jack Ketchum seems in grand old form at home and, hopefully, whatever the disorder was he's over it.

"The plan is to go to Cheltenham for the Relkeel Hurdle as long as the ground is not desperate, as we wouldn't want to be running him on heavy.

"If the ground was bad at Cheltenham we might have to consider waiting for the Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot a week later but Cheltenham is the aim."
