A juvenile has appeared at a special sitting of the District Court in Limerick in relation to a fire at aschool for special needs children in the city last night.

Earlier, a Garda forensics team was at the scene of the fire which broke out at about 8.30 p.m. at the school in Dooradoyle yesterday evening.

The fire caused substantial damage to a new €3 million wing of the facility.

The forensics team took large number of samples from the scene for further examination.
