A Dublin judge warned yesterday that if people chose to carry knives they faced "serious consequences" in court.
Judge Sean Delap was commenting on a case where a youth, whose finger was partially severed by a sword, was later caught by gardai carrying a knife for his own protection. The youth was sentenced to two months' imprisonment for possessing a knife.
