Pontiac, Michigan - The judge in Dr Jack Kevorkian's murder trial yesterday granted the right-to-die activist his wish to represent himself.

Dr Kevorkian was charged with first-degree murder after he acknowledged giving a lethal dose of drugs to Mr Thomas Youk (52), who suffered from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig's disease.
