A case in which 13 Dublin street traders are fighting a seizure order by two international sports companies for allegedly selling counterfeit jerseys was adjourned by the Dublin District Court yesterday.

Counsel for Adidas and Reebok International, who are seeking the forfeiture of a number of jerseys under the 1963 Copyright Act, applied for the adjournment because one of their witnesses was not available due to pregnancy.

The court heard there had also been a mix up in relation to producing the registration of the Adidas trademark and an adjournment was needed to sort this matter out.

Judge James McDonnell was told there was also a dispute between the parties over a previous court order on the prehearing identification of legal and evidential issues.

Judge McDonnell adjourned the case and listed it for hearing on September 4th next.
