JAKARTA - Indonesia's Supreme Court overturned the verdicts of two lower courts yesterday to declare the country's Information Minister, Mr Harmoko, acted legally when he banned a controversial weekly magazine, Tempo, in June 1994. The ruling was immediately condemned by the Indonesian independent Legal Aid Institute as a violation of human rights creating a milestone.
