Irish men and woman who died during United Nations service were honoured in Dublin today.

Irish men and woman who died during United Nations service were honoured in Dublin today.

The President Ms Mary McAleese, the Taoiseach and representatives of the Government, Council of State, and the Diplomatic Corps were among those who attended the multi-denominational service at the Royal Hospital in Kilmainham.

President McAleese laid a wreath on behalf of the people of Ireland at the service which was also attended by relatives of 1916 leaders and next of kin of those who died on UN service.
