The Irish Times was named the best printed national newspaper at the 1997 Irish Print Awards ceremony in Dublin last night. The Evening Echo took the regional newspaper award in the event, organised by Irish Printer magazine.
The prize of Irish Print of the Year went to a Dublin company, Brookfield Printing, for its reproduction of antique tiling in a sales brochure.
More than 40 companies from the Republic and Northern Ireland were honoured at the event in categories ranging from digital to self-adhesive label printing.
