Two Irish teenagers are being questioned in relation to a stabbing at a holiday resort in Bulgaria.

A restaurant manager on the Black Sea resort of Sunny Beach was reportedly beaten up and stabbed in an incident involving Irish tourists yesterday.

Two people were questioned after the incident and had their passports seized, according to local media reports.

A 19-year-old woman and her 15-year-old brother were being questioned but the not yet charged. The reports say police are deciding on what charges it can bring against the boy because he is a minor.

The Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed that two Irish people were involved in an incident and that embassy staff from Sofia were assisting the pair. The embassy officials were also in contact with local police and the pair's family in Ireland.
