Remains of Bernadette Connolly found in UK after going missing in Dublin

Her family posted a message online to say that they received the tragic news

The remains of Bernadette Connolly have been found in the UK almost two months after the Dublin woman went missing, her family has said.

In a statement on Instagram, Ms Connolly's daughter Jade said her body had been found on a beach in Blackpool.

The 45-year-old from Swords was last been seen on January 7th when she was dropped off by a taxi at the Shoreline Hotel, in Donabate, in the north of the county.

“My family and I have received tragic news that a woman’s body was recovered from a beach in Blackpool UK and it is confirmed to be my beloved mam Bernadette Connolly,” her daughter posted.

“We will always remember her smile, strong character, and love. Mam and I have had 30 years together, for that I am grateful, and our memories will live forever.

“As her daughter, I truly know I did all I could in my power to find her. We prayed for people to light a path to bring her home and we’re so grateful to have her back and can now lay her to rest,”she said.

Ms Connolly’s body was recovered on the coastline in Blackpool on February 4th and was identified through DNA analysis, according to a Garda statement.
