Man hospitalised in Dublin following serious assault

Gardaí seeking witnesses to incident which took place on Camden Street Upper

A man was taken to hospital last night following a serious assault in Dublin city.

Gardaí said they are seeking witnesses to the assault which occurred on Camden Street Upper shortly after 4am this morning.

The injured man and two of his friends were involved in a row with three men, believed to be in their 20s.

The man, believed to be a French national, was taken to St James’ Hospital with a head injury. The three suspects left the scene in the direction of Rathmines.

The scene of the incident is sealed of for forensic examination and a Garda investigation is underway. Gardaí have asked anyone who was in the Camden Street area between 4am and 5am to contact Kevin Street Garda Station on 01 666 9400.
