A man in his 30s died overnight after the car he was driving left the road and entered the Royal Canal.
Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the incident shortly before 6am this morning.
The man's body was taken from the car at Allenwood, Naas, Co Kildare. The road was closed to facilitate an investigation and diversions were put in place.
