The Irish Auctioneers and Valuers Institute has welcomed the allocation of funds to improve the infrastructure of rural towns and villages.
The IAVI welcomed the special tax relief for the provision of rented residential accommodation for third-level students. The increased funding for the local authority and social housing programme, which includes a £1 million allocation towards providing accommodation for the homeless in Dublin, was also welcomed.
But the IAVI said some issues had not been dealt with and needed to be rectified in the Finance Act. One of these is where owner/occupiers taking lodgers face a stamp duty clawback.
