Dover - Forty-eight illegal immigrants were discovered huddled inside a lorry trailer last night by a sniffer dog named Danny. The springer spaniel barked to alert immigration officials to the presence of the immigrants when the lorry was driven off a cross-channel ferry.
Twenty-six people, from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Eritrea and China, were returned to France immediately.
