An inquest into the death of a well-known criminal who was shot dead in the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) in Dublin last December has been adjourned pending investigations by gardaí.
Gerard Bath Byrne (25), from Ferryman's Crossing, was shot up to five times in the head outside a supermarket on Lower Mayor Street in the IFSC on December 13th, 2006.
Yesterday the Dublin city coroner adjourned the inquest into his death until December following an application by Insp Cliona Richardson of Santry Garda station, who said investigations into Mr Byrne's death were ongoing.
She told the court a file would be sent to the DPP.
